Site & Community Impact refers to the total impact and importance of green and sustainable practices.
“Green” design has been around for nearly 40 years, and it is necessary that we recognize the impact of previous building practices. The sooner we do, the better off we will be.
True change does not come in the form of fancy new lightbulbs or hybrid cars. It comes from developing and implementing new practices in creating our buildings, where 60% of the energy we produce goes. Individuals that recognize this have the power to do good –not just by themselves, but in their neighborhoods, towns and cities. It is a true grassroots movement –in some cases quite literally.
