We encourage all those who have the passion for our cause, who can afford to spend their time with us, and those with the knowledge, experience, and expertise in the different fields where MN Green Star operates to come and join us in our mission. There are no monetary rewards but we assure you that the experience itself is fulfilling, productive, and will help you become a better version of yourself.
What is volunteerism?
The gift of self – these words capture the essence of being a volunteer, idealistically speaking. Volunteering is primarily a helping act wherein a person gives a part of himself to others without expecting anything in return.
What is the value of volunteerism?
Volunteerism has an important role in the civil society. It helps us gain a sense of community and facilitates participation in the development process. Historical accounts both here and abroad testify to the power of volunteerism across diverse settings in different generations. After World War II, voluntary efforts were concentrated heavily on welfare, relief and reconstruction work. Through the passing of time, volunteering covered various areas among other fields – from the military, advocacy, rehabilitation, education, to health care services and environmental protection; tackling numerous issues; involving professionals and non-professionals alike, the youth and the matured generation.
There are many things that need changing that can only be addressed by the community working together. True enough, with the different issues and challenges that we are facing, we need more people who can give their skills, time and energy to help improve our conditions. Everyone is encouraged to be involved. We can all help make this world a better place to live in by sharing our talents, skills, and resources to those who are in need. Let us do our part in nation building and community development.
